May 11 and 12

First Day in Europe!! I must say that this has thus far been a very different experience than I expected in many ways. Today was mostly me getting acclimatized. I knew that I would experience major culture shock when the first person I saw when exiting the aircraft in Praha was a policeman armed with an M-5. When behind the Iron Curtain...

It's a very different place, and I have been told by many people that this is a common reaction to countries like the Czech Republic in Eastern Europe, as opposed to Western Europe, and that when we get closer to Austria it will feel more like "Europe" to me.

Today we arrived in Prague at around 9:00 AM. The view as we descended was incredible, a brief break in the clouds that gave me a perfect view of Stare Mesto and the Vltava, the same place where I would be spending a majority of my first day in Europe:

Wow. What a view!

We proceeded immediately to central Prague when we landed after clearing customs. Here are some highlights of our sightseeing throughout the day!
