I'm sorry that I've not blogged in a good amount of time. No, I've not died. I'm still here... in Munich! We had no internet in Salzburg.
I'm afraid I can't give you a full update right now on what we're doing because I don't have internet access for long. But I can tell you that Salzburg was wonderful. So full of history... especially musical history! And, of course, the Sound of Music sites! I loved it, and took plenty of pictures.
We got to go to central Munich for a short period of time tonight, and I took pictures there, too. Today we also recorded in a church near the hotel, and got 12 pieces done! Go us!
Tomorrow we head to Marktoberdorf. Saturday is the first day of competition! YIKES! I'm very excited!
I was going to add more photos for your perusal, but sadly my internet is quite slow and will not let me load them before my time runs out. Hopefully I will be able to post an abundance of them in Marktoberdorf.

May 24 and 25
Sorry about the last day's blog. Here's something a wee bit more detailed.
May 24:
Koper was great. We had a short drive through the southern Slovenian wine country, and it was lovely. Koper is a very industrial city, and it wasn't the most beautiful place we could have visited on the Slovene coast but it was still very cool.

We went to the lamest beach I have ever been to, complete with uniquely European facets like very tan overweight women, speedos, and topless sunbathing. But it was still very cool to experience the ocean, and see the Adriatic.

We stayed last night in Korte, a small town in the foothills leading to the sea. We were right on a ridge in our hostel with amazing views overlooking the valleys on either side.

The concert was tough that night, as the acoustic in the Church was a little strange. But we had a wonderful time, and got to mingle with a local choir over cheese and apple juice (the LDS version of vino) afterward.

May 25:
Today we started in the Postojna Caves, a complex of caves that is some absurd distance long, and they were SO cool. The pictures tell the story here, but I will tell you that it takes 50-80 years for one millimeter if a stalactite to grow. So you can just imagine how old this cave is.

We then went on our way to Ljubljana, the capitol of Slovenia, where we are currently staying. I wish we had more time here, because it is honestly my favorite place so far on this trip. It's absolutely wonderful; much less busy and crowded than Praha, but still with the big city feel.

I won't put pictures up from the concert due to lack of time. The pictures take a long time to load at it is late late late here!
Tomorrow we depart for Salzburg, which will also be wonderful. But I'm not ready to leave sLOVEnija!!

Koper was incredible. This area of Slovenia is simply stunning. Many hills, valleys, and the gorgeous Adriatic Sea. While Koper is not the most starkly place we could have visited on the Slovenian coast, it was still very cool to see the Adriatic and wade for a while.
We had a rough concert this evening in a church in Koper, and had a delightful reception afterward.
The internet is very slow here, so I will be uploading pictures tomorrow in Ljubljana. Sorry for the short update but I must be heading to bed because we have an early start tomorrow. I will do a more detailed blog entry with photos tomorrow morning or evening, depending on the time and the internet availability in Ljubljana.

Today we experienced a cross-section of Slovenia, from the rolling hills in the east to the slopes and lush pine forests in the middle to the Tuscany-like vineyards in the west. It is one of the most wonderful and beautiful places I have ever been.
We're currently in the extreme southwest of Slovenia, right on the Italian border, in Nova Gorica. Gorizia is across the border, and we sang there tonight in a concert hall. I didn't get too many good pictures of Gorizia because we never had much free time to take pictures, but I did manage to get a few fun ones that are a little different than the ones I have been posting so far.
The bus ride was wonderful! So scenic; my favorite day of travel so far.

Pictures of the rehearsal in the hall.

The view of the vineyards from the restaurant where we ate.

The most amazing meal of the trip so far: Gnocci with blue cheese cream sauce. Wow!

This has been my favorite leg of the trip, mainly because of the audeinces we are singing for. We learned three Slovenian songs, and they love it whenever we perform them. It's like we're rock stars! We get minutes of applause, sometimes the unison clap. :)
This place is so incredible. I'm not ready to leave yet, and hope that I'm not too attached at the end.
